Bilateral Relations Uruguay – Lebanon
The state of the bilateral relations between
both Countries is qualified as very good and is
analyzed by topic as follows:

A) Political Affairs |
The Embassy maintains an important presence in
all forums and political instances in Lebanon.
Both Countries profess the principles of the
defense of the Peace, the pacific settlement of
controversies, the exercise of democracy and
human rights respect.

B) Economic, Commercial and Investments Affairs
|
*TARIFFS
Lebanon applies the following tariffs for the
import of Uruguayan goods:
- Wine (70% the liter +10% VAT + 200L.L. per
each liter ); Sparkling (15% the liter + 10% VAT
+ 200L.L. per each liter)
- Honey (35% + MIN NET/KG 8000L.L.);
- Meat (5%),
- Dairy products (5%)
- Liquid milk (70% per liter + 700 L.L. for each
liter + tax of 25L.L. per liter);
- Powder milk (5%);
- Processed cheese (5%);
- Grated cheese (5%);
- Powder cheese (5%);
- Other cheese (35%);
- Rice (5%);
- Oil rice (15%);
- Fish (5%)
- Yerba Mate (5% + 10% VAT)
- Mineral water with gas (25% each liter + tax
of 25L.L. per liter + 10% VAT);
- Delicatessen (10%+ VAT);
- Live animals (5 % +VAT)
* HEALTH CERTIFICATES:
On September and November of 2007, Uruguay and
Lebanon approved the health certificates for
live animal imports as well as for fresh, frozen
and chilled meat.
